Mike and John are friends.
Mike: I'll "meet" / "see" you at the restaurant at 7.
John: Okay, bye.

I believe two variants are possible, why should you use one of them only? But "see" is more frequently used in such situations Emotion: wink

"Meet" and "see" are synonymous in that context. "See" is probably more common than "meet". People usually eat in restaurants but of course there's no knowing what these two intend to do.
