Meet + Object

Hello,

Does 'meet' always need a direct object? For instance, is the sentence below correct grammatically:

"I won't be able to meet in the morning"

"We won't be able to meet in the morning" is not exactly what I want to say because I am the one who can't make it to the meeting. So, I guess I should say: "I won't be able to meet you in the morning"?
