Meet him or meet with him?

Hey guys,

what is the difference between meet him and meet with him? It seems that both of them are grammatically correct. But I am kind of confused about these two expressions.

Hi, If my memory serves me right, "meet smb" is more AmE, and "meet with smb" is either more BrE or simply more formal. -- Victor

If my memory serves me right, "meet smb" is more AmE, and

"meet with smb" is either more BrE or simply more formal.
