Medical sentence correction

Hello teachers.,

please correct the sentence and tell me if it is correct way of writing..

- Physical examination showed tumour in the armpit.

You can write it in two ways. They are;

1. Physical exam showed a lump/mass in the armpit.( As suggested by Canadian)

2. Physical examination revealed a lump/mass in the armpit (General English).

3. Physical examination revealed axillary mass in the armpit ( Medical English).

That's not correct. As "axilla" is the anatomical term for "armpit", no one should say "..revealed (an) axillary mass in the armpit."

“Physical exam showed a (lump)(mass) in the armpit.”

The sentence "Physical examination revealed an axillary mass (in the armpit)", is erroneous.

Here, axillary is incorrectly used as an adjective to modify the noun mass. The word axillary neither names an attribute of the mass nor describes it. At best, it p

axillary mass/ mass in the axilla-- are these two not similar?? Also confirm diffrence between showed and revealed. what is correct here - showed or revealed? very confusing. smdl
