Media has or Media have?

The media [has/have] become more responsible nowadays.

Please help me, its very confusing. What does media take has or have? Is it treated as a plural noun, but I believe it should take singular verb as it is a collective noun. Please help.

Thanks in advance.

anshh What does media take has or have? It is used both ways, with great argument offered for both sides. Use either and someone will complain.
