Antonia, this is a pretty cumbersome sentence and I'm really not sure what it means - but I'm pretty sure we don't talk about "tourist construction" -- that sounds as if you are manufacturing tourists. But maybe it is an accepted phrase in the specialized world of construction engineers.

This may be very wrong, as I too find it quite difficult to grasp; but perhaps:

"...cast doubt on the widely held belief that the tourism sector of the construction industry has special standards and requirements."

Thank you all. Can I ask you one more thing connected to the expression tourist site construction? I need a word which covers the idea of building tourist facilities, in general, not a building site. Does the expression tourist site construction cover this meaning?

Yes, but I fail to see how there could be the building of tourist facilities without the existence of a building site. Restrooms, at the very least, are de rigueur.

The sentence doesn't mention the word 'site'. So is it 'tourist construction'? Maybe this phrase signifies promoting tourism, which is why you have 'unique measures'.
