Measure weight

Hi

Is "measure your weight" as in stepping on a scale to check your weight sound fine in a casual conversation. Or maybe sounds formal and out of place? I mean scientists measure the weight of various objects, but I'm not sure about this phrase in the context of weighing yourself on a scale.

Thanks!
