Measure

Hi

Why in the second sentence present continuous is wrong?

1. A: What are you doing with that ruler? B: I am measuring or measure the area of the kitchen.

2. The garden measures 12 by 20 metres.

Top answer

Hello Tara, Because it is the area of the garden, and it doesn't change. So, the present continuous (is measuring) is wrong. Best wishes, Joseph
