Hi. Is 'meanwhile' correct/appropriate here?


Jacob enters. Jay trots over to him.

Jay: Can we talk?

Jacob: I don't want to talk to you.

Jacob walks away. Laila comes over to Jay.

Laila: Is he still mad at you?

Jay: He doesn't want to talk to me.

Laila smiles at him. Jay smiles back. Meanwhile, Jacob instructs two of his workers...

Jacob: Set up the chairs and tables.
