Meant to be?

Hi! everyone Could you please tell me the correct use of "meant to be or do"?
1-I meant to do my work at 9:00 Am(Now it is 11:00 Am)
2-I was supposed to do my work at 9:00:Am (Now it is 11:00 Am)
Are these both mean the same? And I also want to know that I heard that Meant to be,destined, and fortuned are same Did I hear correct? And in the past tense do these all mean that we didn't do the work or something couldn't happen because of of some reason in the past? I mean If I use "destined" in the above sentence Would it mean the same as "suppose to do or meant to do"
Thanks!
