Which is correct?

My high school life is meaningful in that/because I was popular yet shy.

I am more concerned about the accuracy.

I believe "in that" and "because" have different uses.

I think "in that" may be correct because I am saying it was meaning in that I was popular. But it was not always meaning in all ways. It was not meaningful in that I learned nothing.

"Because" seems like it was meaningful BECAUSE something
