Hi, I know that "to go down" can mean "to be considered" or "to be remembered" These meanings are OK, but basically it means 'to be recorded'. I understand well the second meaning but not the first one In following examples : "This will go down in history" --> Ok that will still be remembered by our grandchildren "My work went down really well" --> I don't see how "to go down" can have the meaning of "was well-received"It's a somewhat idiomatic use, but really it's close to 'to be recorded', in the sense that the teacher or employer makes a mental or actual note of the fact your work is good. Could you help me ?
