Meaning pls "sporting"&"to"

1)Hungarians were sporting enough to tell which women they admire enough
to be like if they had a chance.
2)sure,pakistanis r playing mind games but they r also sporting enough
to acknowledge a good player when they see one-even if it is from
across the border.
from these above 2 sentences pls tell me the meaning of
"SPORTING"

in 1st sentence sporting enough to tell in this what does
"To" signify.CAN'T WE PUT "BY" INSTEAD OF "TO"

I must say, with my teacher's hat on I would mark the first sentence as quite incoherent, and not a well structured sentence at all. Never the less ....... The phrase: "sporting enough to" refers to some ideal of sportsmanship - an ideal of behaviour which good sportsmen are supposed to demonstrate.
