Meaning Of "Would"

You would be doing me a kindness.

I'm not sure of if the "would" mean the speaker's guess or hope. If not, could it be that the speaker was giving orders euphemistically?

The exact meaning depends on the context, as it always does. "Would" expresses absence of certainty. "You will be doing me a kindness" would mean that your action is certain.
