Meaning of "Will not take his profit" in a bet

I made a prop bet with a friend. And he said that he will not take his profit. May I ask in this context, am I still obligated to pay out in the event that I lose. He is arguing that he actually means that he will not keep his profit, that I still have to pay out and he will donate it away.

It seems that neither one of you is a native speaker of English. It also seems that by "will not take my profit" he meant "will not profit from it if I win", meaning he would give his winnings away if he won. Do you still have to pay if you lose?
