Meaning of "verbatim"

Hi,

Would you explain the sentence below? Since I am not sure what verbatim means, I can't understand it. I looked it up, but wouldn't click.

You can also read verbatim what she said on the Wikipedia site under J. Paul Getty.

Thanks.

The use of "also" suggests that what you're looking at right now is a condensed version of the original. "Verbatim" means an exact word-for-word transcription. Happy New Year!

I see. So, what I'm looking at, is the edited version. And the original version is on the Wiki.

Thanks! and Happy New Year!
