Meaning of verb "Clarify" (semantics)

I have doubts about the meaning of clarification. For example, if there is a false statement in writing, for instance, "A stone is soft" and if I say, "A stone is hard, not soft." Would my statement be considered a clarification?

This is the definition of "clarify": the https://www.ldoceonline.com/dictionary/act of making something https://www.ldoceonline.com/dictionary/clear or https://www.ldoceonline.com/dictionary/easy to https://www.ldoceonline.com/dictionary/understand, or an https://www.ldoceonline.com/dictionary/explanation that makes something clearer

The first statement, structurally speaking, is not ambiguous, it's just a false statement about a stone. I am just stating the true statement. Is my stating the above true statement an act of clarification? Please let me know.
