Meaning of '' to within''
Hi, I come across two sentences below whose meanings seem to be hard to take a good grasp of.
Particularly, '' to within'' seems to be very tough to understand, so pls. get them clarified.
- A 1 inch PVC pipe is placed inside the 2 inch pipe to within a few inches of the bottom and extends out the top of the tee feeting
- A 2 inch to 1 inch reducing fitting is then filed or sanded so that it can slip over the 1 inch pipe and can be glued in place so that a few inches extends above the top of the reducer
