Meaning of "throw around"

Hi,

Does "to throw something around" mean "to use something (such as good looks, influence) in your favor, to your advantage"

Do you think the following sentences sound OK:

1. She had an in with the boss and she would throw it around at every opportunity

2. She's a looker and she throws it around

Thanks !

1. I think I would say that she "throws it up" at every opportunity. I know it sounds a lot like vomiting, but we use it.
