Meaning of this "release and hold"

Hi,

I'm translating a webpage from Delta. Could you tell me the summery of it, or at least how I should take the underlined part.

By entering the Sweepstakes, each participant agrees to release and hold Sponsor and employees, officers, directors, agents, representatives of the Sponsor, and legal advisors harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims, and actions of any kind in connection with the Sweepstakes or resulting from acceptance of the prize, including without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.

Thank you,
