Meaning of the word "movement"

Hi guys,

may I ask you for help with the meaning of the word "movement"?

Exact context: A woman is describing how she met her husband...

We met when I was 17 at an anti-war protest.

Vincent was standing on the stage, reciting his poetry.

It wasn't very good, but oh, He was so... so passionate.

I fell in love. With him and the (?) movement. (?) = with that time?

Please may I go with this paraphrasing or do you have a better idea of howto translate it?

thanks a lot in advance and for your effort.

Tomas.
