Meaning of the simile

"vivas" is not an english word. my dictionnary says it's spanish and italian for " an exclamation of acclaim or approval " so I guess you can get the rest yourself

But what the whole phrase means in English . I need a specific answer from our proficient speakers .

It doesn't mean anything in English since very few English speakers will know what "vivas" is supposed to mean. It's like saying "as stressful as yerqualing" or some other non-word.

I think you might want to wait for a reply from someone from the UK to be sure. This sentence, on its face, would not mean anything to me. But I think a "viva" in the UK, would be the verbal component of someone's doctoral thesis. So perhaps, someone is saying whatever they are refering to is as stressful as preparing for / going through that. Apparrently, a viva is quite stressful, because t

Actually I got this in a book named Five Point Some One of Mr Chetan Bhagat ,an Indian English author.

Viva is present subjunctive form of the verb "vivir" means to live in Spanish .
Just as it is said Viva Espana means long live Spain etc.
