I have a question on this sentence.
The answer is restraint. While I am understand the correctness of restraint considering the overall meaning, the way the sentence has been phrased sounds a little odd to me.
My question:
Merely the fact that they are tremendously strong indicate the degree of restraint?
(Maybe the sentence is all right but I haven't understood properly)

To me, that sentence reads OK in normal reading, but under close scrutiny, I agree that the logic may be very slightly off. More logically, it is the fact that the bears don't hurt each other in play, despite being tremendously strong, that indicates restraint.
