Meaning of the sentence

Hi there.

The reviewer of my manuscript has asked me to add the following sentence.

"They also showed that gender diversity on the AC does not drive their results of an association between women on the board and ICWs."

AC stands for Audit Committee. ICWs stands for Internal Control Weaknesses.

I want to know the meaning of the part I wrote in red. I can guess the meaning but I am not sure.
