meaning of the "resolve" in here??

Hello, i was skimming through a game script and found something i can't understand. It was:

"Though we all grieve for the loss of a mighty hero, we must find the resolve to carry on. He sacrificed himself to destroy the evil...blah blah"

Does "resolve" in this sentence mean a solution, so the speaker meant to say they have to find a solution to carry on?
or does it mean that they have to make a decision, like becoming decisive to carry on?

At first I think it means a solution because it seems awkward with the preceding "find the~" if it means a decision. But dictionaries say resolve means "a resolution, decision or will" as a noun.
I'll really appreciate your help. Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't exactly call it common, but it's not rare either. Often (not always) it would be followed by "to (do something)", as here.
