Meaning of shadow

May your shadow never be less!

What does 'shadow' mean here, please? I have searched the mean of shadow on the online Cambridge Dictionary; but that makes no sense here.

Thanks.

I found one explanation in Muslim tradition.

A beggar looks at someone giving him alms and blesses him, “May your shadow never be less.” The beggar means, 'may your wealth increase (i.e. the person gets fatter and casts a larger shadow) so next time you have more to give me. '
