What's the meaning of running someone out? Does it mean to force someone to leave?

"This place I worked... hot chick was in the bathroom stall, other whores were in there too. Takes a phone call and flips out on caller, goes to real man voice. Bosses heard about it and were like f*** you tranny, get out fa****. It wasn't really a hot chick. Turns out there are no laws to protect transgendered people, so they totally made fun of her/him in front of the whole office and ran her out, lol."
