Meaning of "pushes through"

Hello. I just had a little talk with my highschool friend and we haven't seen each other ever since we graduated. Here's our conversation: Me: Hi! How are you? Haven't seen you in forever. My friend: I'm great! We should though! If the summer COLF grade school reunion pushes through! What does she mean by "pushes through"?

It's a term usually used in politics, I take it to mean "passing a decision-making process". Simply, that it happens.

Oh, I see. So it's like saying if the reunion ever happens?
