Meaning of pinned up and pointed face

I'm having difficulty finding the definition of pinned up in this sentence

In the back of the shop, a boy with a pale, pointed face was standing on a footstool while a second witch 'pinned up' his long black robes.

the only logical meaning I'm find out about this phrase was that the lady was put some pins in his robes to fit them to the right size in order to cut, measuring the width and height of his body.

Am I right?

and the meaning of 'pointed face'

Right, except in this case I picture her doing only the hem. Remember to always start a sentence with a capital letter.

  • Amir Ameri 1246 and the meaning of 'pointed face' I see that as roughly triangular in shape when viewed from the front, with a pointy chin.
