Meaning of numbers

One means very first and the formation of objects. Neo, the One, is the main character of “The Matrix”, who is only hope to save the human race in virtual reality. This movie straightforwardly explains that the name, Neo, came from the One.


Number three is the count that everything applies to. Three contains the first, the middle and the last in which displays as a whole, and in Pythagoras’s theory, the three means a completion. Angels and fairies from movies always ask for three wishes, and this composition of triangle in the movie can draw perfect and stable characteristics. It is not a coincident that the number of three male actors and three female actresses in the sitcom <Friends>, and <Three Men and a baby, 1987>, <The Three Musketeers Meet the Man in the Iron Mask, 1998>, <The Witches of Eastwick, 1987>, <The First Wives Club 1996>, <Boys on the Side, 1995> are all same kind. The number two expresses rival, however, the number three shows well balanced in confrontation, excellent relationship between characters, and also growth oriented movie very often.




The number five expresses human as microcosm and indicates a circle. The number five expresses human which combines two females and three males as a harmony and symbolize justice. <The Fifth Element, 1997> talks about elements that form a universe, those are soil, water, air, fire and the last element which can not be seen with the naked eyes that is love. Therefore, universe becomes a perfect.
