meaning of "mark"

What does "and it must be marked each time" mean?

Importantly, then, the urban space of praxis (or movement) that is emphasised here, between nothingness and somethingness (and vice versa), represents, as Anton proposes, ‘a void between two things in which art becomes possible, and it must be marked each time, for it is what art “is”, a mere “nothing” that isn’t nothing since it happens’

This is fancifully worded gibberish. Do not worry too much about it making sense. It is academic nonsense.

  • If the phrase means anything, I would guess that it is trying to say that "art" can be used to mark the "void" (and that this is a necessary task of art).
  • Whatever that means.

Doctor D I think it means that "the void must be filled with art each time". Am I right? So, does "to mark" here mean "to fill"?

red appleit must be marked each time
It must be noticed; It must be noted; It must be brought into the consciousness.

The difference between nothing and something is creation. Art is creation. It must be noted that it is creation — the causing of something to come into being.
