Meaning of "marble leading"

Hi,

I can't understand the part I underlined. Maybe because I'm not sure what "leading" means in the context. Would you explain what it is?

The lobby is decorated in an Iranian fashion with beautiful Italian marble leading to a wooden wave shaped desk.
