Meaning of 'get way with it'?
Hello! Help me with the colored part, please.

Thinking that way, (2) sounds strange. I understand the meaning of (2). But can't understand (2)
What does 'it' refer to in "Few husbands can get away with it"? ------- 'it' can't refer to 'lie', since lie should be plural and should be 'them'. then,
(A)what is 'it'?
(B) And what is the meaning of 'get away with'? -- I guessed it would mean 'expel, get rid of'.
