Meaning of "Did you wear it out"

A lady in the fitness centre asked me "Did you wear it out?" just after completion of my running on the threadmill. What does it mean? If her intention was to know whether I was tired, why did she use "it" in the sentence?

Thanks,

Ravi

Hi Ravikumarkargam, I'd say the woman was joking with you a little bit. She wasn't asking you whether you were tired -- instead she was in essence asking you whether the treadmill was tired after the long work-out you gave it.

to wear something (e.g., a machine) out is to use it so much that it deteriorates and cannot be used anymore. "it" is the treadmill.

She may have been joking, or she may have been impatient to use the machine herself. Did you exceed some time limit on the machine?
