Meaning of "broker and direct"

Hi,

Please rephrase the words "broker and direct" in the context below. Dictionaries wouldn't help me.

"vWorkspace offers the most flexible delivery to users of desktops and applications. It brokers connections to VDI desktops that run on a variety of platforms, as well as desktops and applications running on Remote Desktop Session Hosts (Terminal Servers). It also directs connections to blade PCs."

Thank you,

A broker is a like a telephone operator in a hotel. If you don't know the room the person is staying in, you call the hotel main line. You tell the hotel operator (broker) who you want to speak to, and the operator connects you to the correct room.
