Meaning of 'Bound' ?

Looks like the verb 'to bound' has numerous uses in different contexts, and can mean 'Limited to', or 'Attached to' etc, someone please explain how I use this verb

"is located in a large basin bounded by the Pacific Ocean on one side and by mountains", in that sentence, bound can be replaced with 'limited', right?

"I am bound to fail" is the same thing as "I am destined to fail"? or "doomed to fail"?

"Scottish "nationalism" as we understand it, is bound up with that one thing: the right of the Scottish people to make their own decisions.", here, "bound" means that is 'attached'?
