Thanks folks.. It appears that the word: belecan or belegana or belegaana means about what I suspected it meant. The word "belecana" is used repeatedly by Elizabeth Hegemann in her autobiography/narrative book "Navaho Trading Days". Thanks again... Lee Carkenord
