Meaning of "back up"

Hi,

I heard "back up" in this context:

Let's back up for a bit. Who was she?

I guess it means "Stop talking, I need to ask you an important question"

Am I right?

Thanks !

Not exactly. It means I think we glossed over that topic. Let's take the conversation back to that earlier topic and address it before we move on to the next topic.

'Glossed over' means did not cover in sufficient detail.
