They meant "a compilation of the glasses and sunglasses worn by well-known celebrities", but they didn't want to put it that way because it could be understood to mean that they had the actual sunglasses that the actual celebrities actually wore. They put "as" on it like a band-aid, and it shows like one. I might have made it "It’s a reinterpretation of the glasses and sunglasses worn by well-known celebrities" or "It’s an homage to the glasses and sunglasses worn by well-known celebrities."

It means "like those" or "of the same kind."  It it used, as enoon points out, in order to differentiate from the actual celebrities' sunglasses.
