Meaning of academics in this context

Hi everyone~,

In the paragraph below, I can't decide the exact meaning of "academics" and "social dynamics" in this context.

My guess for "academics" is "faculty", that is "teachers", which seems to be natural, considering the next sentence.

And as for "social dynamics", it seems to mean "the way of communication between classmates" or "social relationship between classmates".

I'd like to hear your opinions. Any comments are welcomed and would be a great help.

Thanks a lot in advance~!

Educators are keenly aware of the fact that one of the roles of education
is to teach positive social behavior. Schools offer social settings in which
students are exposed to other students from different races, cultures, and
backgrounds. The social aspect of academics is always present. Teachers
face the impact of the social dynamics in every class during every lesson.
Yet teachers are not often aware of the changes on a neurobiological level
that are having a revolutionary impact on student social behavior.

Hi Yes, 'academics' is just being used as a synonym for 'teachers' in the following sentence, so far as I can see And, yes, I'd say that social dynamics, in that context, means 'the social relationships between the students' Dave
