Meaning of a word "zone" - help me with selecting a name for a domain

Hello,
English is not my native language (obviously). Because of that I'm not sure about my domain name registration idea. There is a new tld domain name - ".zone". Does it sound good for american/british/australian when someone registered a domain names unrelated with geoography ?

I'm aware that a word zone is related with geographical zones, regions etc. How about a domain name for example "bike.zone", "food.zone" and so on (names unrelated with geography). Doesn't it sound stupid ?

I'm asking because I want to register a domain name for comprehensive website covering all topics in itself's category. For example a website with all kind of informations regarding to casino gambling (mathematic, articles with strategies and other all kinds of information and services a man could get about casino gambling) would name casinogambling.zone. Doesn't it sound weird for native english people ?

Sorry for my bad english but I hope you got the question's idea.

No, I don't think it sounds weird. "zone" could refer to a virtual place as well as a physical one. If you search Google you will see that many sites already exist incorporating "zone" in their names, such as bikezone.com, thebikezone.com, etc. (Though I suppose this might be a reason for not choosing a name like "bike.zone".)
