Meaning of a sentence

I have to do an assignment for my study. Therefore I had to read an article in which someone discussed de meaning of a certain concept. In this article the author wrote about ''pragmatic fidelity to the way we speak.''

Does anyone know what is meant by this (''...'') sentence?
