Meaning of a sentence

Does the following sentence mean:

a. art usually has thematic content.

and...

b. Toscani uses these thematics contents in advertising.

and...

c. this strategy brings closer two arenas of art and advertising?


Sentence:

In other words, thematic content usually the preserve of art has been legitimised by Toscani and has brought the two arenas of representation closer together (Art and Advertising by Joan Gibbons).
