Meaning of a sentence

Hello, I want to apply for a scholarship and I need to fill a form. There is question that I don't fully understand what and how I need to answer. Here is the question:
"Our scholarship programme’s motto is Excellence. How would you reflect this on society?"

What does the second part mean. " How would you reflect this on society?"

What I need to explain?

Thanks for your help.

The meaning is very unclear to me. Perhaps they want you to explain how ,if you become an excellent student, you will use that excellence to help the society you live in after you graduate. But it's an odd and unnatural wording.
