meaning belonging to death?

i bumped into a hard excercise (to me), and after having looked up all the words in the Oxford advanced's dict.,i still can't find the answer:
his injuries seemed minor at first, but in the end they were ...
a. deathly (i don't think this is the answer)
b. lethal
c. fatal
d. terminal
how are the the three last ones different?

Top answer

Lethal is more 'poisonous' like a gas or snake bite; terminal is used more with illnesses; fatal (the one you want) is associated with injuries, auto accidents, overdoses. I can see why these might be confusing to an English learner!
