Hi, would you please tell me what is the meaning of that wasn't far enough in the following text:

Diana was already tired of her new job. The more he was in the morgue, the more problems he was creating. She would never see his body, with or without hands. It was a thousand miles away and that wasn't far enough. She finally said yes to the amputation, and the hands were removed and rushed to the forensic lab in.....

please note that in the context she is the executrix of the deceased.
