Vocabulary

Meaning?

Hi,

what is the meaning of " What's the buzz?" and "everybody throwing Knives " in the following text?

"Baker versus krane chemical," a clerk said.

"What's the buzz" Ron asked.

"Four-four split, with everybody throwing knives. Calligan and company are quite nervous about you. McWlwayne and his side are curious. Everybody is watching, waiting.

Please be informed that the context is about a supreme court vote and the final decision depends on the vote of Ron.

Thanks
