Meaning

Can I waltz in there?

Top answer

If you "waltz in" somewhere, it means that you go into a place in an inappropriately abrupt or casual manner, or uninvited, or not at an appropriate time, or something like that. I suppose this meaning is intended, rather than literally the dance.

Can I waltz in there?

Nobody would say that!

Example:

She is so annoying. She just waltzes in to my cubicle at any time, even when I'm on the phone with a customer, and starts blabbing about her hot date last weekend, her miserable job or her never-ending family quarrels.
