Hi. What is the meaning of " traveling display" and " the AIDS guilt" in the following text:
The tail end of an era of panic and desperation, of angry protests by ACT UP radicals, the traveling display of the AIDS guilt ......
Furthermore could you please tell me that the angry protests by ACT UP radicals means protest in favor or against the AIDS people?
Thanks
I believe there is a typo there. It should be "the traveling display of the AIDS quilt". In the early years of the AIDS epidemic, a large quilt was made that had something like one square for each AIDS victims.

This traveled around the country and displayed at events (making it a "traveling display") as a demonstration of how many people were being lost to AIDS.
Thanks for the comment. You are absolutely right .a typing error has occurred and I apologize for that. Meanwhile please note that I am waiting to receive comments for the second part of my question and highly appreciate comments and observations.
Thanks again
