Hi,
What is the meaning of to try out for" Dancing with the stars. " in the following context:
"Who you calling?"
"Waters.Want to get an update.May be he's got a lead he'll share."
"Right. And I'm going to try out for dancing with stars."

Thanks for the reply. I know the meaning of to try out for something, what I don't understand is the reference to "dancing with the stars" in this context.Does it mean that while he is calling, she would try to watch the show?.But this meaning is hard to accept because they are in the car and not at home.Further reply would be highly appreciated.

The intended meaning presumably is "You've got as much chance of getting a share of the lead as I have of appearing on Dancing with the Stars" (i.e. no chance at all).

In the context this is roughly equivalent to "I'm sure he'll share that. And I'm just as sure that I'm going to fly to the moon."
